摘要
The paper is concerned with the buckling of masonry arches made of voussoirs, wedge-shaped blocks. An energy method is used to investigate and formulate the buckling conditions. It is shown that in the case of infinitely rigid voussoirs, buckling of the arch is related to its geometrical parameters only. The voussoir aspect ratio and the relationship between its width and the arch span; stable and unstable parabolic masonry arches under uniformly distributed loads are discussed.
