摘要
Despite the fact that engineering workstations (EWS) are widely applied in not only program development environments but also in laboratories and factory production lines, the EWS is not available for real-time processing such as in measurement and control due to its lack of real-time performance. The real-time I/O subsystem (IOS) is a real-time server that can synchronously handle analog and/or digital signals in a UNIX environment, and it successfully allows the application of EWS in many processes, including the acquisition of on-line data analysis, control, and others.
