A new large transmitter has been developed for the UHF-TV bands 470 to 575 MHz and 585 to 790 MHz. The article describes the transmitter with its solid-state IF-modulated low-level stage, YK 1151 klystron output stage and power supply. The electrical performance, constructional design and handling of the klystron are treated separately.
