ROCK MECHANICS/GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATIONS.

Electronic data collection systems were used in some British collieries to present information about the operation of coal clearance systems and the state of face activities. A large number of information retrieval systems based on computers have been developed. More recently, terminal applications at collieries have been designed to provide a service for complex calculations, control information and critical reports. Part 1 of this article focuses on data acquisition and data processing of geotechnical parameters in coal mines.
