Dielectric measurements have been made on pure and iodine-doped polyvinyl chloride (PVC) specimens at X-band microwave frequency in the temperature region 300-400 K. The presence of iodine in the PVC samples modifies both the real and imaginary parts of the complex permittivity. The loss peak which appears for 10% (by weight) iodine content stays in position with regard to temperature but grows stronger in magnitude monotonically as the iodine content increases. Possible explanation has been extended for the observed results.
