摘要
A comparison of time domain and frequency domain methods for investigating process variations is provided. Application of the Fast Fourier Transform is described and areas of current and future applications are given. A historical review of Band Pass Filtering, Correlator, Correlator-Spectrum Display, and Fourier Analyzer methods for basis weight studies is included. Some examples of the application of Frequency Domain techniques conclude the paper.
