摘要：
The paper briefly describes various methods of thick seam extraction from room and pillar methods to present-day longwall techniques. Thick seams provide an opportunity for vertical concentration and a possibility of selecting slices of 2. 5-3. 0 meters in thickness. Descending order of extraction is suggested, with caving behind shield supports and chemically consolidating the caved debris to form an artificial roof for the face below.
