摘要：

A stand-alone package designed to train end-users in online searching based on the ESA-IRS system is discussed. The package comprises a computer-assisted learning program to introduce commands, a system simulation which supports free-text searching on a small database of around 600 records using virtually all the ESA QUEST commands and facilities, and a series of searching strategy exercises deigned to track and analyze searches on specific topics. The package runs on an IBM PC-XT with 256K RAM and at least a 10 megabyte hard disk.
