In a single inhalation exposure of experimental animals to fluorine ions at the level CL//5//0 injection of glutamic acid was found to produce no positive effect. In prolonged poisoning with fluorine ions glutamic acid normalized tissue oxygen metabolism, hematologic and biochemical parameters, accelerates fluorine excretion with the urine. Glutamic acid may be recommended as a therapeutic and prophylactic drug in chronic fluorine poisoning.
