The manufacture of Fe-Cr-Co magnets by casting was studied. It was found that by proper melting, suitable composition adjustment, and continuous cooling during magnetic aging, magnetic properties comparable to those of Alnico V alloy are obtainable with Fe-23. 5/24. 5Cr-11. 5/12. 5Co-0. 8/1. OSi-0. 8/1. 0Ti-10Cu (in wt%. ). Details of melting practices, casting, and heat treatments are given.
