This two-part paper discusses debris removal in Part 1, mixing in Part 2. Among the filterless debris-removal techniques described are: Stokes law (gravitational) separators; inertial separators; cyclone separators. Filter types described are: fixed bed; bypass, movable bed; Bayer; spring-loaded disk; self-cleaning bypass system using a fluidic oscillator; expanded bed sand filter; a coalescer for liquid dispersion. In Part 2, the ″pump-less″ mixers described are: the tee mixture; tangential-entry tee; disk or edge mixer; co-current mixer; ejector; anti-fouling tee; static mixer. Among the pumps described are: Fison's syringe diluter; ″egging pumps″ ; siphons (self-breaking, plunger started, ″urinal″ type.
