Oberau Project for the Drinking Water Supply of the City of Munich.

Following a review of the stages of development of the Oberau project to bring additional water supplies from the upper Loisach valley to the city of Munich, including an account of the hydrogeological features of this valley, the reasons dictating the choice of the pipeline route are cited. In addition, the special features of the first stage of the pipeline construction, the so-called pumping test section, are described, including pile foundations and pipeline tunnels.
