Progenitor of cardiac arrhythmias: the relationship between alternans and restitution in individual cardiac cells

摘要
Restitution function is calculated using a new and improved pacing protocol combined with a new analysis method. Restitution functions obtained from different ventricular cell models are compared. The pattern of alternates and more complicated behavior generated by these models when presented are described. Further, the implications of these results for abnormal action potential propagation patterns and arrhythmias are discussed.
