Hot water is often ignored when an energy medium is chosen. In actuality, it offers a number of significant advantages over steam in many applications where either choice is acceptable from an operational point of view. This article discusses low and high temperature equipment for space heating and process applications. Subjects covered include rating and capacity, heat storage, and others.
