The strategy and results for simulating the steady-state operation of the wastewater treatment process at the BP refinery at Trafalgar, Ontario, Canada are presented. Details of each step of the strategy are given: defining objectives, learning the process, developing the stream list and information flow diagram, preparing the models, and using the simulation.
