Forces involved in direct extruding of copper were studied to assess the power requirements for the process. In this paper the parameters relevant to the extrusion process are discussed as they affect the ram travel extrusion load diagram. The parmeters examined closely resembled industrial production conditions in order to render the transference to full scale surroundings possible.
