The performance of carbon, graphite, and graphite containing materials in furnaces in Wales and Scotland is surveyed with particular reference to air-undercooled carbon hearths, graphite-undercooled firebrick hearths, graphite-undercooled carbon hearths, carbon and semigraphite boshes, plumbago-brick composite stack linings, and backfill materials incorporating graphite flakes.
