摘要
The wave propagation in a random inhomogeneous absorbing and scattering layer is investigated for the case where the surfaces of the layer are characterized by a wide roughness spectrum. An analytical expression is derived for the angular distribution of the scattered wave intensity. The role of different mechanisms of volume and surface scattering is investigated. The backscattering cross sections for thick single- and multiyear sea ice layers are computed. The numerical computations are compared with experimental results.
