Casts of iron were produced in cupolas using iron-ore pellets with different degrees of metallization in the charge. Steel scrap and some of the cast iron in the charge can be replaced by pellets when grey of malleable iron is being produced. The influence of prereduced iron-ore charges on the chemical composition of the iron and on cupola melting parameters was determined.
