Recently, maintenance of existing concrete structures has increased in importance. The detection and analysis of cracks is of particular concern, but is very labor-intensive. NKK developed a crack analysis system using a personal computer to analyze images of photographs of cracks. The efficiency of the system was demonstrated for reinforced concrete slabs in highway bridges.
