摘要
The distribution characteristics of a centrifugal-type spreader broadcasting poultry litter were evaluated in terms of both mass and nutrient distribution. The effects of poultry litter particle sizes were also investigated. Most smaller particles landed within a distance of 3.7 m (12 ft) to either side of the spreader while larger particles were spread more evenly out to a distance of 6.1 m (20 ft). The nitrogen concentration was relatively uniform throughout the particle size fractions, and it was uniformly distributed across the swath as well. The carbon concentration increased with increased particle size. The best uniformity was obtained with a simulated travel spacing of 8.5 m (28 ft), much closer than the 12.2 m (40 ft) recommended by the spreader manufacturer.
