摘要
A major step towards easing the energy supply situation derives from the more efficient use of fuel by the oil industry itself. This enables the production of either more fuel from a given quantity of crude or alternatively use less crude, thereby conserving resources, in producing a given volume of finished products. In the marine transportation area, the cost of fuel oil currently accounts for about half of the marine operating costs - a few years ago it was only 20%. Energy conservation techniques in this field are described.
