In tests in a stationary furnace with a blast capability of up to 100 m**3/min it was found that the optimal circulation conditions are attained when the tuyere axis is inclined at an angle of 75 to 80 degree to the bath surface. The slags obtained correspond to ordinary converter slags, and the waste gases contain about 10. 5% SO//2.
