摘要
The fully three-dimensional flow field of a gaseous naphtha jet emitting normal to a natural gas stream was simulated by a new upwind high-resolution computational fluid dynamics method. The method solves the full three dimensional N-S equations using a high-resolution MUSCL-TVD scheme and an improved LU-SGS method. The computed results compare favorably with available experimental data. The numerical results show that the high-resolution scheme is able to capture the physical phenomena in the flow field of a jet in a low-speed cross stream. The vortices which occur for a jet in a cross flow dominate the flow field of the gaseous naphtha jet emitting normal to a natural gas stream although the thermodynamic and transport properties of the naphtha greatly differ from those of the natural gas.
