Soot characterization in atmospheric particles from different sources by NIR FT Raman spectroscopy

Aerosol particles from different anthropogenic sources were collected on polycarbonate filters and compared with filter samples of atmospheric aerosol samples from different sites. The Raman spectra of soot and carbon blacks were interpreted in comparison with the Raman spectrum of graphite. All spectra exhibit Raman bands at 1600 and about 1300 cm-1.
