Investigation was made to establish preventive methods for servius accidents resulting from severe shocks to passengers in an elevator car or from a car leaving a floor with the door open, as well as for long-term suspension of elevator operation resulting from breakage of its rotating machine. The investigation also aimed at securing high reliability with control equipment.
