The rate of oxidation of carbon and the temperature of the metal bath during blowing in a basic oxygen converter depend on the consumption of carbon-containing dust in the flow. Under the conditions of the experiment the optimal fraction of fuel in the flow was found to be 0. 2-0. 3. With a further increase in the consumption of coal dust, the rate of decarburization of the melt greatly decreases. The rate of dissolution of solid carbon in the melt increases with an increase in the stirring rate and with a decrease in the particle size.
