Based on the results of large-scale tests a high-speed glass column is designed to absorb nitrogen oxides from a plant for reworking spent acids. It is shown that, under the circumstances given, this technical solution is economically superior to the packed column made of refined steel as well as of glass and makes it possible to save considerable quantities of materials.
