We describe the conductive analog charge division read-out as typified by the Wedge and Strip Anode (WSA), used in conjunction with a microchannel plate (MCP) intensifier and discuss the limitations on spatial resolution imposed by the various elements of the detection system and means for their reduction. We present spatial resolution measurements obtained with a detector employing a curved channel microchannel plate and WSA readout.
