摘要
A closed form formula is derived for the average mean-square-error (AMSE) over the time division multiple access (TDMA) user's slot at the output of a LE-LMS (linear equalizer that uses the least mean square algorithm for adaptation). This formula for the AMSE can be used to examine the effect of system parameters on the equalizer performance, the result of which provides the opportunity to make initial evaluations of important system design decisions. In addition, this formula can be used to compare the AMSE and/or the performance of different system models having different channel variation models and/or different multipath profile shapes. The conclusions that are extracted from applying this formula can be applied also for the decision feedback and fractionally spaced equalizers. Also, the calculated and simulated AMSE are compared. Furthermore, examples of this formula's applications are demonstrated.
