The paper discusses a device that is simple in design and permits testing the frost resistance of specimens without unsealing the freezer compartment, which eliminates destabilization of the temperature regime and reduces energy expenditures. An air-cooling system is used in the freezer compartment, in which case freezing is accomplished by blowing the specimens. It is characteristic that the flow of cooled air is aimed directly at the zone of the specimens to improve the stability of the temperature field and to intensify cooling. The device during the tests does not require the intervention of the service personnel, with the exception of the time needed for loading and unloading operations.
