摘要
This paper has given some details of a proposal to provide a motoring information service in the United Kingdom, using a network of low-power broadcast transmitters. The investigation which has so far been carried out, together with associated work within EBU Subgroup K4, has served to clarify the role that broadcasting can play in serving the motorist. It will also ensure that any contribution supplements efforts being made by traffic specialists to provide other aids. The feasibility of the proposal depends upon several factors, some of which are beyond the scope of work normally undertaken in connection with broadcast research. The work so far carried out is described and the need for further studies is discussed.
