It is assumed that the space inside the cone is filled with an electric medium; the axisymmetric process of motion of a weak longitudinal wave in the direction toward the vertex of the cone is investigated. The investigation is for points in time preceding the arrival of the wave at the vertex. The walls of the cone are smooth and absolutely rigid. In this case it is not hard to show that the transverse potential is equal to zero, and that the reflected waves are longitudinal. The aperture angle of the cone is assumed to be greater than 90 degree , so that waves reflected from the walls do not intersect. 2 refs.
