Based on expansion of fields in terms of LE and LM waves, expressions are obtained for the transmission of radiation by a narrow rectangular slit in a shield covered with a dielectric layer. The contribution of surface and spatial waves to the conductivity is investigated. The radiation patterns of a slit emitter are determined.
