The economics of using powder coatings with respect to solventborne coatings in the Tyler Refrigerator Corp. was investigated. Powder coatings were more viable and economical when compared to the conventional techniques. High quality products and energy conservation in terms of heat was an added advantage. The expenses incurred in the disposal of paints was much higher and the relative costs in powder technology were low.
