摘要
This paper presents a new method for calculating the approximate upper limit of wave runup on riprap. This method can be used to compute the elevation which protection needs can be extended to prevent exceedance by runup, or used to estimate potential severity of wave overtopping. Data sources for this paper were two model studies that investigated wave runup on riprap protected dredge disposal dikes in the Great Lakes and the stability of and wave runup on riprap, to be used to protect Herbert Hoover Dike on Lake Okeechobee, Florida.
