摘要：

The importance of data warehousing in the management of information in organizations to yield dividends in terms of competitive advantage was discussed. The benefits described included simplification of decision making by providing a single view of data, easy access, increased performance of operational systems and scalability. The requirements for the implementation data warehousing including iterative development approach were also analyzed.
