摘要
Influence of mold heat flux on longitudinal cracks were investigated for steel slabs during high casting speed of up to 5m/min with an experimental continuous casting machine. Critical heat flux was found the occurrence of longitudinal cracks on the wide face of slabs were observed in the cast with alminium killed low carbon steel. The reduction of heat flux in mold under the critical value was necessary for the prevention of the defect. It was achieved effectively by the increase of powder basicity and the addition of ZrO2.
