The absorption spectrum of SnO//2 single crystals was investigated at T equals 4. 2 degree K in pulsed magnetic fields up to 200 kOe. It was established that there was a range of fields in which the quadratic field dependence of the energy of each of the exciton lines changed to a linear relationship. The general pattern of the magnetoabsorption spectrum of SnO//2 was in agreement with the hypothesis of the exciton origin of the magnetoabsorption oscillations. This conclusion was supported by the measurements of the carrier mobility which showed that direct transitions between the Landau levels could not be observed under the experimental conditions. The oscillation spectrum disappeared near a structure observed beyond the absorption edge.
