The method described is particularly suitable for applications where shafts are being controlled by synchro systems. Since this is the most commonly used system for control of angular rotation, the method may be applied to a wide range of problems. The measurement method is based on the use of a synchro to digital converter (SDC) and a solid state control transformer (SSCT). These units are electronic modules which accept synchro input data, (and in the case of the SSCT digital input data also), and produce angular information in either digital or analog form.
