This is a brief discussion of asbestos physical and mechanical properties accompanied by property data presented in tables. Effect of asbestos fillers on the properties of reinforced plastics is described with particular attention to flame spread index. In conclusion, asbestos has been shown to have many unique properties and, therefore, imparts unique properties to resins where it is used as a reinforcing fiber or filler.
