Summary form only given. The authors designed a stretcher pattern for use with a previously reported transfer gate pattern. Also, magnetic field distributions based on scaled-up models and computer simulations were measured. Upon using appropriate aperture lengths and settings, and using dummy apertures, it was found that stripe domains grew longer than the pattern width; in order to limit the former to the latter, out-of-phase patterns were set on either side of the stretcher pattern. A common region was found in the stretcher and transfer gate pattern operating margins.
