摘要
The identification of impurities that cause laser induced ionization in proportional gas counters is of some importance to the laser calibration program for the large drift chambers planned for the LEP project. Low concentrations of toluene have been found in a proportional counter gas by comparing the single photon UV spectrum of toluene with the resonant two photon ionization left bracket R2PI right bracket spectrum of the counter gas.
