摘要：
Evaluation of the J integral from two dimensional (plane stress or plane strain) finite element idealizations of three dimensional specimens has been reported many times in the literature. The authors reviews these evaluations and comments on methods and procedures. Experimental evaluations by King and Herrmann and Read are cited.
