DISTRIBUTION OF ACCESS AND DATA IN LARGE DATA BASES.

Distributed systems are becoming increasingly important. The first real examples of such systems are computer-communication networks in which truly distributed computation is performed at sub-network level. Networks can be viewed as layered structures. Providing higher levels in the hierarchy with distributed features is still a complex task. This paper focuses on distributed data bases as part of a larger distributed system. Deadlock-free mechanisms and load leveling techniques are described which permit parallel and highly secure access to data bases.
