Just-in-sequence delivery of complex chassis systems

Car producers are showing increasing interest in completely outsourcing complex modules and systems from high-performance suppliers. In this context Porsche has contracted Krupp Automotive Systems, a company in the Krupp Hoesch Automotive Group, to supply the axles for the Boxster and the new 911 Carrera. Based on the know-how available at the companies in the Automotive division and elsewhere in the Krupp Group, Krupp Automotive Systems has set up simultaneous engineering teams - assisted by Porsche - to transform customer requirements and objectives into a logistics and value-adding concept and has set up an axle plant on the Porsche factory premises for just-in-sequence supply to the final assembly line.
