摘要:
The mechanical and physical properties of cold-rolled aluminum alloy 3004 are studied. The work-hardening behavior is related to the evolution of substructure. Three separate stages of work hardening can be distinguished in each of which different processes are dominant. The contribution of structural inhomogeneities to stage IV work hardening is discussed. The thermoelectric power of the cold-rolled materials is measured and related to the decomposition of the solid solution. A link between the strain-induced decomposition of supersaturated solid solution and work-hardening behavior of this material is found which allows us to propose an explanation for work softening and shear band formation.
