New differential protection of transmission line with strong immunity from noise in current transient component

摘要
A new differential protection scheme is designed, in which the current fault component waves in two terminals of the protected transmission line are compared in time-domain, and the whole information in frequency domain is taken into account. Compared with current differential protection, the new protection has better performance on resisting the influence of transient component, higher reliability and faster speed. The demand for the synchronism of the current is comparatively low. It frees from the system oscillation. It can be realized easily and could be the primary protection of the long transmission lines with ultra-high-voltage.
