摘要
The formulations for paints and coating systems today are more than adequate to meet industrial, environmental, and regulatory requirements. When they fail to perform as expected, inappropriate selection is frequently the cause. Coating performance can be evaluated by identifying specific characteristics, namely adhesion, corrosion inhibition, film thickness, density, and application. It is then possible to predict performance by calculating the cost of the coating in square feet, for each year of protection. This article discusses how this may be done.
