Convergence testing on a distributed network of processors

摘要
The termination of iterative algorithms on a distributed network of transputers is an important issue with the increasing usage of parallel computers. In this paper we analyse the computational and communication costs of performing the convergence tests on the solution of the Laplace Equation on a two dimensional region, i.e., the unit square. Finally a strategy of terminating the iteration without convergence testing is demonstrated.
